Jill's Next Door Dog Walking & Pet Services, LLC Promotes Pet Safety and Animal Rescue through PSI'S Early Education Program®
Jill’s Next Door Dog Walking & Pet Services, LLC offers children’s presentations and educational materials to promote responsible pet care, pet safety, pet care as a career, and animal rescue to the next generation of pet owners in Palm Beach County, Florida. Jill discusses Dog Bite Prevention, Safe Handling, Canine Body Language, Animal Rescue, and also provides students with the opportunity to “adopt” their own stuffed dog or kitty! Jill’s Next Door will also provide live kittens from our partner, All About the Cat’s Animal Rescue upon request. We present to schools, churches, synagogues, children’s events, summer camps, Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts and more!
What is PSI'S Early Education Program®?
Created by Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s leading educational association for professional pet sitters, the PSI’S Early Education Program®, provides PSI members with educational materials and pet care information that can be shared with children highlighting responsible pet ownership, safe handling, bite prevention, and more.
What DOES THE EDUCATION PROGRAM ENTAIL?
Jill presents to children about a career in pet care, animal safety, and animal rescue. This is achieved through safety demonstrations with play dogs, explanations about animal rescues and daily operations of animal shelters, and how they can help animals in need. They learn nose to tail, in an immersive, fun demonstration for all participants.
WhaT TO THE CHILDREN WALK AWAY WITH?
Children learn imperative skills on safe handling, pet care, and dog bite prevention. The demonstration also includes pet care as a career and the importance of animal rescue. Each child is given the opportunity to “adopt” a stuffed dog or cat, complete with it’s own kennel, and a Certificate in Pet Safety and Animal Welfare.
PSI'S EARLY EDUCATION PACKAGE INCLUDES:
1. Career Day
Students learn about careers in pet care including day to day operations of a pet sitting and dog walking business.
2. Pet Safety
Demonstrations including safe handling, bite prevention, canine body language and more!
3. Animal Rescue
Students learn the importance of animal rescue by “adopting” a stuffed dog or cat, including an adoption certificate and kennel.

Jill Merjeski is the owner of the multi-awarding winning pet care company, Jill’s Next Door Dog Walking & Pet Services, LLC. Jill is a Certified Professional Pet Sitter with specializations in canine behavior, fear free training, and dog emotion and cognition. She is also the founder of internationally recognized Jill’s Next Door Feline Alliance Program, an organization partnered with local shelters to raise animal rescue awareness. Jill has fostered over 250 kitties and has worked with animal rescues around Palm Beach and Broward counties with a exceptional team of volunteers.
